Celta Vigo 1-2 Juventus: Kolo Muani Heads Stoppage-Time Winner After Álvarez Opener
Juventus came from a goal down to beat Celta Vigo 2-1 at the Estadio Abanca-Balaídos in Vigo on Thursday 15 October 2026. Substitute Randal Kolo Muani headed the winner in the second minute of stoppage time. It was Juventus's second win from two games in the UEFA Europa League league phase, and it keeps them top of the table.
Hugo Álvarez gives Celta an early lead
Celta made the better start and went ahead in the 18th minute through Hugo Álvarez, who finished from close range. The hosts held that advantage to half-time, and Juventus had little to show for their spells on the ball.

Celta arrived in Vigo looking for a response after losing 1-0 to Omonia Nicosia in their opening Europa League game. Juventus, by contrast, had beaten NEC 5-0 on matchday one. Teun Koopmeiners returned to the Juventus midfield after missing that game and started alongside Pape Matar Sarr.
Juventus find another gear after the break
Luciano Spalletti's side came out with far more purpose after the interval. Francisco Conceição twice came close to levelling, and Celta goalkeeper Ionuț Radu saved both attempts. Sarr also forced a save as Juventus pushed the hosts back.
The pressure told when Nick Woltemade volleyed Juventus level in the second half, finding the bottom corner with his right foot. It was a reward for a team that had been the more threatening side since the restart.

Spalletti turned to his bench in the 64th minute, bringing on Kolo Muani and Nico González for Conceição and Kristijan Alajbegović. Further changes followed around the 70th minute, and Douglas Luiz replaced Koopmeiners in the 82nd minute.
Kolo Muani heads a stoppage-time winner
The decisive moment came in the second minute of stoppage time. Andrea Cambiaso, a constant threat down the left, delivered a cross and Kolo Muani rose to head it in. Goal's player ratings gave both men eight out of ten. Nico González had also struck the post in stoppage time.
The numbers favoured Juventus. They finished with 22 shots to Celta's nine, six of them on target against two, and won seven corners to Celta's two. They had 53 per cent of the possession. There were no red cards, and each side picked up two yellow cards.
Woltemade told Movistar+ that he enjoys playing alongside Kolo Muani and that a late win mattered for the team's confidence. Spalletti said his side were rewarded for their substitutions and their attitude, and that they kept attacking until the very last moment.

What it means for both sides
Juventus host Rennes on matchday three. Pierre Kalulu made his 100th appearance for the club in Vigo, and he was among the players rated highly for the performance.
Celta, who have now lost both of their Europa League games, still wait for their first points in the competition. Their next match is away at Celtic.
